Montolli Atelier was founded 40 years ago as a workshop of sculpture.
During this time, under the supervision of Artistic Director Mauro Montolli, the atelier has developed into one of the most accomplished Italian workshops working with stone and marble.
The atelier preserved the spirit and the characteristics of a traditional workshop focusing on craftmanship, attention
to the detail as well as the desire to constantly experiment and research.
The atelier, specialised in all aspects of stone working, especially for mosaic, inlay and sculpture, exalts the unique attributes of each material, their chromatic effects and their tactile qualities thanks to the profound knowledge of the various techniques.
The Atelier fully inherited the tradition of mosaic-making and explores its decorative possibilities both for private customers and public institutions.
The ‘FLOWERS’ collection was unexpectedly born in a bookshop in a snowy Moscow, after a fortuitous encounter with a book filled with wonderful photos of tulips. The idea to realize them in large dimensions came instantly.
This is how the Montolli workshop, with its historic inlay and mosaic techniques, cleverly combines polychrome marble and stones with semiprecious and Venetian smalti glass.
For the past 15 year Montolli has been making artwork in unique, numbered and signed pieces, created on our own design or on particular requests and taste of the customer. Each flower comes to birth with a name.
